Why is dark fiction important?
No matter how we live our lives we are always confronted with something disturbing or something potential to disturb it. Dark fiction – or Horror – demonstrates how characters react under that sort of pressure and conflict. The importance of this kind of work is that we understand how a character reacts or see within those characters and events something of our own potential behavior and fear.
